We make learning French fun!

Learning grammar rules and getting long strings of words into your head… hard work. But at L’école de français you do that in a playful way, at school or online. The teachers have, as far as possible, French as their mother tongue. Due to the small groups (max. 8 students), you get optimal attention and every opportunity to practice speaking French in a pleasant atmosphere. Courses are available for every level, from beginners to advanced. And not only for adults, but also for young children and teenagers. There are also Business French courses as well as Intensive courses (18 hours in one week). Which lesson level suits you?

The levels of our courses are based on the European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR). Below you can read which lesson goal we have for each level. If you have any questions, please contact us. Together we will find the course at the level that suits you best.

A1 Beginner

Recognize and use familiar words and simple phrases for concrete purposes. To be able to introduce yourself or someone else. Ask and answer basic questions about home, family, surroundings, etc. Communicate in a basic way when the other person speaks slowly and clearly and is ready to repeat or reformulate to help communication.At this level we have two sections: A1.1 Beginner-Start (first acquaintance with French) and A1.2 Beginner-Restart (for students that have had basic French lessons long time ago).

A2 Elementary

We focus on interacting in French and practising with games and role-playing. If you have learnt some French but still feel uncomfortable to speak, this is the perfect course for you. Gain confidence and speak French with our theatre teacher! This course is excellent preparation for the oral exam of the DELF level A. At this level we have two sections: A2.1 Elementary-1 and A2.2 Elementary-2.

B1 Intermediate

On completion of our course you’ll be able to do the following: Understand the main points of clear standard communication on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. Deal with most situations likely to arise while traveling in an area where French is spoken. Be able to produce simple connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest. Describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans. We have two sections: B1.1 Intermediate-1 and B1.2 Intermediate-2.

B2 Upper intermediate

Understand the main ideas of complex text both on abstract and concrete topics, including technical discussions in your own field of work or study Interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers possible without strain for either party. Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the pros and cons of various options. We have two sections: B2.1 Upper intermediate-1 and B2.2 Upper intermediate-2.

C1 Operational proficiency or advanced

The aims of C1 are to be able to: Understand a wide range of long and complex texts, including any subtextual or stylistic nuances. Express yourself freely and fluidly, without obviously fumbling for words. Use the language effectively and fluently in a social, professional or academic context. Speak in a clear, organized way about complex subjects, developing a well-structured argument.
